An idea is formed by a group of volunteers while in South Africa to support children in Africa and the UK using animals and primate activities to allow children a therapeutic experience.<\/p>\n
August 2008<\/p>\n
The idea is supported by ‘The Great Primate Handshake, who make a small film in South Africa on the aims of the project.<\/p>\n
October 2008<\/p>\n
Handshake Productions support the work being put together in the UK and help Yebo prepare it’s website<\/p>\n
The name Yebo and a logo is produced by Hellen Bersacola who is working on the project<\/p>\n
March 2009<\/p>\n
Yebo launch its website<\/p>\n
May 2009<\/p>\n
Yebo run its first UK children’s primate day with a children’s hospice organisation<\/p>\n
Summer 2009<\/p>\n
Research trips take place in South Africa and Uganda<\/p>\n
Winter 2009<\/p>\n
Primate days are developed with more children’s hospices<\/p>\n
Yebo register as a community interest company as are not financially ready to register as a charity<\/p>\n
March and April 2010<\/p>\n
Yebo run its first volunteering pilot projects in South Africa and Uganda<\/p>\n
Summer 2010<\/p>\n
More primate days in the UK take place and 2 more projects in South Africa and Uganda are run<\/p>\n
First sustainable project in Uganda is set up<\/p>\n
September 2010<\/p>\n
An active supporters group is being developed<\/p>\n
Our aims now<\/p>\n
To develop a board of trustees<\/p>\n
To register as a charity by April 2011<\/p>\n
To raise \u00a3250,000 to begin the charity as a registered working charity<\/p>\n
Paid employment positions needed within the next 6 months:<\/p>\n
-Full time community fundraising developer<\/p>\n
-Full time fundraising manager<\/p>\n
